Who's behind him
For years I was the one with potential. Called smart, used to things coming easy.
I had dreams, plans and ambition. But the years went by and I felt I hadn't done much. What I wanted and what I did had come apart. I'd become a professional procrastinator.
I once lived with a broken bed for months because a two-minute video to my landlord never got sent. I thought about it every night.
Block YouTube, and I'd end up three episodes into a Netflix series. Block that, and suddenly a nap felt urgent.
I tried everything. I'd go all in on a new system, super excited, drop it a week later, and start again with slightly different details. After enough restarts, the scary part wasn't failing. It was not trusting my next promise. I'd lost trust in myself.
I knew the advice by heart. Do the volume. Do the boring work. Put in the hours. The problem was never knowing what to do. I cared every night. But I was one person against apps built by thousands of engineers to keep me distracted. And against the part of me that always wanted five more minutes.
Blockers, I switched off. Reminders, I learned to ignore. I didn't need another tool to remember. I needed someone who remembers me.
So I'm building the friend I wanted. He knows what I'm after, notices when I drift, and brings me back with a joke, with care, and with the truth. Like a real friend would.
My goal is simple: days that go where I want them to go. Work without distractions, time for what I love, and a life without the guilt.
